From “I Do” to “I Didn’t”: Confessions of a Fitness Procrastinator

Hey there, fellow bride-to-be!

Remember me? Page Wilson, your friendly neighborhood M&A lawyer turned reluctant gym-goer? Yeah, the one who was all gung-ho about starting her bridal fitness journey back in... wait, was it really six months ago? Oh boy.

So, it's October now. The leaves are changing, pumpkin spice is in the air, and you might be wondering, "Page, what happened to that consultation with Bridal Fitness Coach you were so nervous about?"

Well, grab a (protein?) shake, and let me spill the tea.

I flaked. There, I said it.

Remember that consultation I had scheduled? Well, the day came, and I chickened out. I'd love to say it was because of a last-minute merger deal or an MBA project emergency, but nope. It was a potent cocktail of fear, apprehension, and, let's face it, a dash of overconfidence.

Part of me was terrified. What if I couldn't keep up? What if Tammy took one look at me and laughed? The other part of me thought, "Hey, I negotiate million-dollar deals for a living. How hard can this fitness thing be? I'll just do it on my own!"

Spoiler alert: Pretty hard, actually.

My solo fitness attempts have been, well, let's call them "intermittent," to be kind. Turns out, willpower alone doesn't burn calories. Who knew?

But here's the real kicker—Tammy from Bridal Fitness Coach? She's been incredibly kind and understanding this whole time. There have been no guilt trips, just gentle check-ins and encouragement. I'm pretty sure I don't deserve her patience, but I'm incredibly grateful for it.

Then, last week, something landed in my inbox that gave me the kick in the (still very unkicked) butt I needed – the September newsletter from Bridal Fitness Coach. It was filled with success stories from brides just like me. Women juggling demanding careers, wedding planning, and fitness goals. Women who started exactly where I am.

It hit me: I'm not alone in this struggle. And more importantly, I don't have to do this alone.

So, here I am, swallowing my pride and facing my fears. I've rescheduled my consultation with Tammy for next week. For real, this time. No backsies, no excuses.

And hey, if you're not already subscribed to the Bridal Fitness Coach newsletter, do yourself a favor and sign up ASAP. Trust me, it's like a monthly dose of motivation, tips, and "you've got this, girl!" energy delivered straight to your inbox. Who knows? It might just save you from six months of fitness procrastination like it did for me!

Remember when I asked if you wanted to join me on this terrifying yet exciting bridal fitness journey? Well, the offer still stands. Maybe we can do this together?

Here's to facing our fears and finally lacing up those sneakers – better late than never, right?

XOXO,

Page

P.S. Seriously, scroll down to the bottom of this page to subscribe to that newsletter. Your future buff bride self will thank you!
